About Kirsty Pinnell
Kirsty Pinnell is an experienced design engineer and programme leader currently working at the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS). She began her engineering career at the Williams Formula One Team, where over 15 years she developed extensive experience in design engineering, project management, communication and leadership. In 2023, Kirsty returned to Scotland to join NMIS as a Senior Technologist, working across engineering, skills development and industry-focused programmes. She is currently the NMIS Internship Programme Lead, where she leads the development and delivery of the programme, connecting students and industry through a ‘Learn + Deliver’ approach to early careers development. Kirsty is also an active STEM and EDI ambassador, passionate about creating opportunities for young people and encouraging the next generation to consider careers in engineering, manufacturing and STEM.
