About Ian Collinson
Ian Collinson is Team Leader for the Scottish Manufacturing Advisory Service (SMAS) within Scottish Enterprise, where he works with manufacturers across Scotland to improve productivity, competitiveness, operational performance and long-term growth.
With extensive experience supporting businesses of all sizes, Ian specialises in helping companies identify improvement opportunities, build capability, strengthen supply chains and realise the benefits of innovation and continuous improvement. He has worked with organisations across a wide range of sectors, helping leadership teams address operational challenges, improve resilience and prepare for future growth.
As part of Scottish Enterprise's wider commitment to growing Scotland's manufacturing economy, Ian leads a team of practitioners who work directly with businesses to deliver practical, results-focused support. His particular interests include productivity improvement, manufacturing leadership, supply chain development, operational excellence and helping Scottish companies maximise opportunities arising from major industrial and energy transition programmes.
